Thailand’s embattled Prime Minister has easily survived a no-confidence vote in parliament.
Lawmakers
in Bangkok voted 297 to 134 Thursday against unseating Yingluck
Shinawatra, who faces protests by opponents who want to bring down her
government.
The motion never had a chance of succeeding because Ms. Yingluck’s party controls the House of Representatives.
Ms.
Yingluck was came to power in a popular vote two and a half years ago,
but she is now facing a wave of protests by opponents that mark the
most sustained demonstrations the country has seen in years.
